Clinical Neuropsychologist | Hot Springs Clinic | Hot Springs, AR

Clinical Neuropsychologist
Description:

Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness is growing and in need of a clinical neuropsychologist Will consider part time, contract or full time position.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide evaluation and develop treatment for patients with cognitive and/or behavioral impairment. This may include medical conditions, injuries or other neuro-cognitive disorders. If indicated, the neuropsychologist will implement treatment. If the neuropsychologist does not implement the cognitive care plan, they will work with the patient to monitor the patient’s response to the treatment and readiness for interventions.
• Conduct psychological evaluations and testing, and serve as an active member of the treatment team who provides staff education as needed on psychological issues. Responsible for developing, monitoring and implementing behavioral management plans as well as assigned responsibilities for quality assurance monitoring. Provide psychological assessments and quality assurance reviews and remain sensitive to cultural diversity issues, treat patients as individuals, and consider the culture of the patients when providing care and treatment.
• Comply with federal, state, local and clinical program/facility standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams in the evaluation and treatment of patients as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an accredited institution.
• Current Arkansas license as a psychologist or licensed in Arkansas at the time of application. Insurance credentialing must be completed prior to employment.
• Familiar with neuropsychological, personality, achievement, and emotional functioning assessment procedures used to provide diagnostic/treatment recommendations.
• Clinical education and training focused on diagnostic neuropsychological assessment.
• Psychologist will adhere to all appropriate standards of practice as outlined by the American Psychological Association, State Licensing Board, and Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and assess various nonverbal cues used in patient diagnosis/assessment in order to understand and develop treatment options.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, as well as hear and respond quickly to emergent needs or issues that may arise with patients.

Preferred Requirements

• Board Certified in Neuropsychology.
• Membership in the National Academy of Neuropsychologists, International Neuropsychology Society, or American Psychological Association, Division 40 and/or Division 22.
• Completion of post-doctoral internship or fellowship in a setting focused on patients with neurological or medical conditions (e.g., TBI, concussions and neurodegenerative conditions).
• Experience with capacity evaluations to determine under what circumstances patients can participate in decision-making.

Experience working with adults who have dual diagnoses in regards substance abuse and mental health is expected. Clinicians will be tasked to develop treatment plans, write comprehensive session notes, assess client progress and participate as a part of a multidimensional team focused on client wellness and recovery.

OBHAW is seeking a full-time or part-time Psychiatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner, licensed as an APRN with prescriptive authority in the state of Arkansas to provide behavioral and substance abuse health services under the supervision and direction of our Medical Director. The Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for administration of the psychiatric and substance abuse treatment programs for clients of Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness according to established performance expectations. Current need is for Tuesdays and Thursdays but our substance abuse program is new and service needs are expected to grow rapidly. 2 years’ experience and licensed as APRN required.

POSITION GOAL
The QBHP is responsible for providing intervention services according to current performance indicators. Services include but are not limited to:
• Monitoring of client’s behavioral/mental/emotional state
• Linking client and/or family to community resources
• Providing support to clients to maintain/improve level of functioning to include Home Visits.
• Maintaining liaison with other service providers/involved community parties.
• Providing treatment activities consisting of specific therapeutic interventions as prescribed on the Master Treatment Plans.
• Provide transportation to clients by driving agency vehicle
