Mental Health Professional | Emergency Services | Hot Springs, AR

Mental Health Professional

Description:
Full-time MHP needed to complete single point of entry assessments and mental health evaluations and arranges or assist with inpatient placement. Completes single point of entry and mental health assessment and refers patients to the clinically appropriate service or program. Works as part of the emergency services team and respond to emergency calls during normal working hours. Coordinates discharge planning and assists with the Forensic Outpatient Restoration Program. Assists with triage and assesses new patients that access the Walk-in Clinic, as needed and as available. Responds to involuntary commitment orders, court requests for assessments and emergency room assessment in a timely manner that is responsive to the community and is a representative of OBHAW’s Mission, Vision and Values. Must be community services driven, have good customer service skills and be able to prioritize work.
Applicant must be currently licensed in Arkansas as LAC, LPC, LMSW, LMFT, or LPE. Must have reliable transportation with a clean driving record. The Emergency Assessor performs clinical assessments and makes level of care recommendations for services in any of the surrounding catchment areas. Mobile assessment experience preferred.

Description:

Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness is growing and in need of a clinical neuropsychologist Will consider part time, contract or full time position.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide evaluation and develop treatment for patients with cognitive and/or behavioral impairment. This may include medical conditions, injuries or other neuro-cognitive disorders. If indicated, the neuropsychologist will implement treatment. If the neuropsychologist does not implement the cognitive care plan, they will work with the patient to monitor the patient’s response to the treatment and readiness for interventions.
• Conduct psychological evaluations and testing, and serve as an active member of the treatment team who provides staff education as needed on psychological issues. Responsible for developing, monitoring and implementing behavioral management plans as well as assigned responsibilities for quality assurance monitoring. Provide psychological assessments and quality assurance reviews and remain sensitive to cultural diversity issues, treat patients as individuals, and consider the culture of the patients when providing care and treatment.
• Comply with federal, state, local and clinical program/facility standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams in the evaluation and treatment of patients as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an accredited institution.
• Current Arkansas license as a psychologist or licensed in Arkansas at the time of application. Insurance credentialing must be completed prior to employment.
• Familiar with neuropsychological, personality, achievement, and emotional functioning assessment procedures used to provide diagnostic/treatment recommendations.
• Clinical education and training focused on diagnostic neuropsychological assessment.
• Psychologist will adhere to all appropriate standards of practice as outlined by the American Psychological Association, State Licensing Board, and Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and assess various nonverbal cues used in patient diagnosis/assessment in order to understand and develop treatment options.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, as well as hear and respond quickly to emergent needs or issues that may arise with patients.

Preferred Requirements

• Board Certified in Neuropsychology.
• Membership in the National Academy of Neuropsychologists, International Neuropsychology Society, or American Psychological Association, Division 40 and/or Division 22.
• Completion of post-doctoral internship or fellowship in a setting focused on patients with neurological or medical conditions (e.g., TBI, concussions and neurodegenerative conditions).
• Experience with capacity evaluations to determine under what circumstances patients can participate in decision-making.

Opportunity:
Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness is seeking an excellent grant writer who is interested in working on a contract basis to support the development, writing and submission of grant proposals. The Consultant will research, analyze, identify, and cultivate funding sources and opportunities from federal and state agencies, private foundations and public corporations to help fiscally execute the organization’s mission.
Scope of Services:
1. Funding Needs Analysis -Work with OBHAW staff to identify funding opportunities that support the mission, vision and programmatic focus areas. One (1) funding prospect/analysis report must be submitted to OBHAW each month.

2. Grant Proposal Development and Writing -Provide grant-writing services associated with the coordination, completion, and submission of grant applications on behalf of OBHAW.

Term:
Initial contract of six months, with an option to renew every six months thereafter.
Compensation:
All grant writing services will be performed on a contractual basis and billed at an hourly rate.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of three years grant writing experience; Experience in the healthcare field and writing SAMSHA and Foundation grants preferred.
• Ability to write and compile grant and business proposals.
• Excellent oral, written, research and analytical skills.
• Demonstrable experience managing projects, i.e. the development and successful delivery of projects.
• Demonstrated ability to secure funding from government, foundation, corporate sources, and individuals.
• A solid understanding of budget and fiscal management as they relate to proposals and grants.
• Ability to represent the organization to private funding staff and community partners.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing multiple projects, tasks and deadlines;
• Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for foundation and corporate prospect and
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or English/Writing degree or equivalent experience.
